Can you share O365 To Do lists externally

Is it possible to share O365 To Do lists with external people or people who are guests in your tenant?

    I'll respond for the OP as we already have those same settings in place and we are NOT able to share ToDo lists outside of our organisation, also we have hundreds of sharepoint sites in our tenant so this method of allowing access seems pretty unmanageable (even if it did work)

    I realize this thread is several months old but, in the off chance that others might bump into it. The steps outlined above are only valid for MS Lists as they are located within Sharepoint Online.

    In contrast, however, MS To-Do task lists are contained within Exchange Online and are a type of calendar object.

    I am currently investigating the possibility to share these items externally but it is extremely likely this is utterly impossible at the moment.

    I will report back here withing 48 hours.

    First, you should enable external sharing both in the tenant level and site level.
    (1)Enable external sharing in the tenant level. Go to SharePoint admin center -> Polices -> Sharing -> Set Anyone in the Content can be shared with section.

    (2)Enable external sharing in the tenant site level. Go to SharePoint admin center -> Sites -> Active sites -> Select the site -> Sharing -> Set Anyone in the External shaing.

    Second, go to the Task list -> List settings -> Permissions for this list -> Stop inheriting permissions -> Grant permissions -> Enter external users emails to grant permissions for them.

    Same problem here. Cannot share outside of my organization where I would rather do, working as a freelancer with a lot of temporary projects I want to be able to create a list for myself where my team leader can add stuff to. Same for other users.

    It's been multiple years that users are requesting to bring back the sharing functionality as Wunderlist once had it. Since Microsoft took over Wunderlist the app stayed more or less the same but the reason why lots of people used it was list-sharing.

    This is one simple thing that shows that Microsoft does not care about its users, it's been requested a lot. Why does Microsoft get to dictate who I share my lists with? I work as a freelancer so if I'm making a list it would be with other freelancers and I refuse to make a new account in my organization every time I need it because it shouldn't and it takes away all thing good about the app.

    Seriously Microsoft, when will you start listening?
