In earlier versions of Excel I had the possibility to connect directly to an IBM DB2 database.

Currently this possibility is missing. Can I activate it somehow?

The current version is Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2402 ) 64 Bit

You have to create a ODBC DNS entry first. Important, the 32/64 bitness of the DNS entry must match your MS Excel bitness.

    Regarding connection string see https://www.connectionstrings.com/ibm-db2/

Yes, there have been a "Aus IBM DB2 Datenbank", but at the end it was just a preselection of the data provider to use, nothing else; no magic trick behind.

Use "Aus anderen Quellen", then a data provider of your choose, e.g. OleDB or ODBC and follow the wizard.
