Will ASE v1 deprecation affects isolated App Service Plans types?

2024-04-28T13:41:05.78+00:00

App Service Environment v1 and v2 will be retired on August 2024, I want to know if this deprecation affects in any way the App Service Plan from the isolated tier. I don’t have ASE configured but do have several isolated app service plans running. Thanks

Hi Jorge,

Based on the following article:

App Service Environment version 1 and version 2 will be retired on 31 August 2024

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-ca/updates/app-service-environment-v1-and-v2-retirement-announcement/

I would say safely that you will not be affected:

"App Service Environment is an App Service feature that provides a fully isolated and dedicated environment for securely running App Service apps at high scale." "In August 2021, we announced Azure Cloud Services (classic) will be retiring on 31 August 2024. As App Service Environment version 1 and version 2 run on Azure Cloud Services (classic), we will retire App Service Environment version 1 and version 2 on the same date."

The retirement of App Service Environment (ASE) versions 1 and 2 should not directly affect your isolated App Service Plans. ASEs are essentially fully isolated and dedicated environments for running Azure App Services, providing features like enhanced security, network isolation, and scaling capabilities.
