@Lu Yi Fei (Lucy) - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.
I am a user of Azure OpenAI service. I indeed created Azure OpenAI resources like GPT-4 models with vision and used them for daily work, but I didn't touch any Azure Virtual Machines and I have no experience on that, either?
It may likely that you or someone in your subscription might be created DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines in the past 6 months. This email will be sent to all the subscriptions which has used DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines in past 6months.
Here is the summary of the Email Recieved:
Microsoft Azure sent a notice about a scheduled maintenance update for DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines associated with your subscription.
The update will require a reboot and you can view a list of affected resources in the Azure portal.
You can initiate the maintenance proactively between 13 May 2024 12:00 UTC and 2 June 2024 12:00 UTC, otherwise, Azure will automatically initiate it between 3 June 2024 12:00 UTC and 16 June 2024 12:00 UTC.
Each virtual machine will be unavailable for up to 15 minutes and temporary storage will be lost during this maintenance.
You are advised to configure service health alerts for increased visibility into notices for your subscription.
Note: Even I had received this same email but when I checked the scheduled maintenance update for DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines associated with your subscription**, I could not find any and I had safely ignored the email**.
How to check whether you have any DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines associated with your subscription?
Go to your subscription => Select subscription => Under settings, select Usage + quotes => Search of DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 to see any usage in your subscription.
How to check whether you have any scheduled maintenance update for DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines associated with your subscription?
To initiate the maintenance proactively, you can view a list of affected resources for this event under the ServiceHealth/PlannedMaintenance tab in the Azure portal. We recommend configuring service health alerts for increased visibility into notices for your subscription.
Go to Azure portal => Search for Service Health => Under Active Events, select Planned maintenance.
Note: In case, if you find any Planned maintenance for a specific VM, you can handle planned maintenance as shown in this article: Handling planned maintenance notifications
If self-service maintenance has not been completed by the deadline mentioned in the email, Azure will automatically initiate maintenance on any virtual machine that still requires it, sometime between 3 June 2024 12:00 UTC and 16 June 2024 12:00 UTC. This scheduled maintenance will be performed one update domain at a time, to limit impact to environments configured for high availability.
You should expect each virtual machine to be unavailable for up to 15 minutes after initiating the maintenance and note that operating system and data disks will be retained, but temporary storage will be lost during this maintenance.
What if in case, I didn’t find any DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines associated with your subscription?
You can safely ignore this notification sent by Microsoft. Even I had received this same email but when I checked the scheduled maintenance update for DCsv2 and/or DCdsv2 Azure Virtual Machines associated with your subscription, I could not find any and I had safely ignored the email.
