We are looking into moving out entire Cisco UC infrastructure to Microsoft Teams including converting Cisco 8800 IP phones to the Cisco Multiplatform Protocol (MPP) and integrating directly with Teams.

What specific features will I lose when I move to MPP and use Teams? For example, can I have multiline appearances on the phones(boss/secretary scenario where the secretary takes the call, places it on hold for the boss to pickup on his phone line?

    Hi @Jack Russell

Cisco Multi-Platform Protocol (MPP) phones integrated with Microsoft Teams still support multi-line capabilities, including the scenario you asked about. This means that a secretary can answer a call and put it on hold, and then the boss can pick up the call from his own phone line.

    Specific features include:

Shared Line: Allows multiple users to share the same phone number, the secretary can answer and hold the call, and the boss can pick up from his own device.

Busy Lamp Field (BLF): The secretary can monitor the boss's phone status to ensure that the call is not transferred when the boss is busy.

Call Hold and Resume: The secretary can hold a call on a shared line, and the boss can resume the call from his own phone.

These features ensure seamless integration with Teams, and the SIP gateway allows compatible SIP devices to seamlessly connect to Teams for calling functions, which are as follows:

Thanks for your understanding and support.
