I had the same issue: I did the next to solved.
Go to Microsoft Remote Desktop > preferences > General Tab> uncheck “use system proxy configurations “ and
Also uncheck “Use hardware acceleration ”
After Big Sur was loaded on mac book pro now the microsoft remote desktop won't load and throws an error report

I would recommend you go into preferences and turn off hardware acceleration. Then it will connect to RDP servers just fine.

2020-11-22T15:56:48.643+00:00 I'm also having RDP issues after Big Sur update. My issues is after connecting, the window rapidly "flickers" I'm running OS X 11.0.1 and RDP client 10.4.1. Turning off hardware acceleration doesn't work.
