Please I am new here and I just want to know, what is laas,

Iaas : Infrastructure as service : In old days, you will need to build your own infrastructure. this include network components ( switches, routers, gateway ... ) and servers ( windows , Linux ... ) you should take care from have these components up and running all times including secure the place. be sure power always available and AC is up and so ON.

So in cloud no need for you to do all this. The cloud will provide you the infrastructure and you will pay for it as you use it. so no need to think about maintaining security , power , AC and so on. this is why they call this as Iaas Infrastructure as service.

Saas : Software as service. the software is ready for you to use. no need to install anything its ready in cloud and users will just sign in and use it. popular example is office 365.

Just to add to this answer you really have three tiers of Service in the cloud (there are many more) but the main ones are IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

IaaS would be dealing with upgrading servers.

PaaS is typically a platform that is provided to you in the cloud. You are not responsible for ownership and configuration of the servers behind the service.

SaaS is an actual product where you don't require to know any code and can configure usually using a User Interface.
