Hi Team,
We are planning on implementing Hybrid Support in our existing application that supports both Exchange Online as well as Exchange On-Premises. Currently we are using MAPI library for authentication. Hence we wanted to know if OAuth is mandatory for Hybrid Deployments.

What do you mean by this sentence? What is the version of your Exchange on-premises server?
If you want to use HCW to create hybrid. AndyDavid's suggestion will be the suitable one for your question.

We have an application which is an archiving system wherein we support both Exchange On-Premises and Exchange Online as mail source. Now that we were planning on providing support to Exchange Hybrid, we had this query on authentication mode used by Hybrid system as the underlying mode of authentication in our application uses MAPI libraries.We could see that Classic Minimal, Classic Express and Modern Minimal topology does not support HMA and OAuth configuration options. In this case, what is the supported mode of authentication?
Even if we choose to implement HWC options that support HMA and OAuth, will that interfere with the underlying mode of authentication i.e. MAPI in our case?
Additionally, we would also like to know, in Exchange Hybrid, how does Outlook client communicate with Exchange server?

2020-11-26T08:46:24.703+00:00 I don’t understand how your application works. But I think the authentication mode between Exchange online and Exchange on-premises doesn't effect the using of application. After hybrid, you could enable the authentication mode that you needed.
Indeed, Exchange online and Exchange on-premises have the archiving function, there doesn't need to use additional tools. -
