Azure MFA requirements and Microsoft Account (live.com account)

Hi,

I have a personal Azure account where until now have been logging in with my regular Microsoft Account (the same one used for Office, Live.com, Outlook etc).

With the new requirements for MFA, I'm unable to figure out if the MFA I've enabled on my Microsoft account will be accepted as MFA for the Azure Portal etc.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Erik

    Hi @Erik K

    Thank you for reaching us!

To answer your question, if you have enabled MFA on your Microsoft account, it should work for the Azure portal as well. When you sign in to the Azure portal you will be prompted to enter your Microsoft account credentials, including your MFA verification method. This is Because your Microsoft account settings apply across all Microsoft services. When you enable MFA on your Microsoft account, it enhances security for all associated services, including Outlook, Azure, and etc.
This will ensure that your account is protected from unauthorized access, regardless of which Microsoft service you’re accessing.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries by responding in the comments section.

    Thanks,

    Akhilesh.
