Hi,

We bought an office 2016 Pro Plus some years ago and, for a compatibility reason, we downgrade the installation on our RDS server (Windows 2012 R2) to Office 2013 Pro Plus.

Today, I want to upgrade to my true Office 2016 Pro Plus licence. My office is on OLP
Here's my Microsoft Open License Order Confirmation :

WirflîmtDsktpcsCAL 2016 Single OLP NL UsrCAL, product number 6SVC-03224
OfiiceProPlus 2016 Single OLP NL, product number 79P-05552

Can you guide me what's the setup file I will need to upgrade my current 2013 to 2016 on my Terminal server? Will it create some office account reset or something?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

    Generally, if you want to upraged Office to a later version, you need to uninstall previous one first. And then you may install the newer version.

    Could you please explain more about this "office account reset"?
    For volumn licensed Office, such as Office ProPlus 2016, we may use KMS or MAK to activate it, it is licensing on a device basis instead of per account. If you want to connect some cloud-services, then you need to login in the corresponding accounts.

    Any questions or updates, please let me know.

    @Steven

    In general, reinstalling Office won’t delete your email, contacts, calendar etc. Your account settings information would be also preserved. But to be on the safe side, I suggest you back up them before uninstalling Office.

    For Word global template (Normal.dotm) which would save a user's custom settings, please go to C:\Users\<user name >\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates, back up Normal.dotm.
