windows settings monitor

every time i open settings i have my monitor on display 1( my laptop) but everything is on display 2 and the setting is show only on 2 and i switch it to 2 and close settings but it resets to 1 so i cant change anything else in my settings

    Hello,

    If you want to use Display 2 (external monitor) as your main display, select "Extend these displays" or "Show only on 2" from the drop-down menu. Confirm that "Make this my main display" is selected for Display

    If you want Display 1 (laptop screen) as your main display, ensure that "Show only on 1" or "Extend these displays" is selected and "Make this my main display" is checked for Display 1.

    If the settings are still not being saved, you may need to update or reinstall your display drivers:

    • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
    • Expand the "Display adapters" section, right-click on your display adapter, and select "Update driver."
    • Follow the prompts to search for and install any available updates.

    If updating doesn't help, you might try reinstalling the driver.

    • In the Device Manager, right-click on your display adapter and select "Uninstall device."
    • Restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the display driver.
