Why does my laptop keep showing the wrong time and date?

I am on Windows 10 and update it whenever it needs it. Just about 2 or so weeks ago I noticed that the date and time was wrong when I turned on my laptop. It showed the last date and time that the laptop was on before I turned it off. It now does this every day, every time I turn off my laptop. It has never done this before. I have tried setting them manually, and it changed itself back to set automatically and still happened. I click synchronize your clock and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and even if it does, it still is wrong again the next day. I have to fix it everyday now. I don't see any other settings to try. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?

    Hello

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check the time zone settings on your laptop to make sure they are correct. To do this, right-click on the clock in the taskbar and select "Adjust date/time". Then, make sure the correct time zone is selected.
    2. Check the time synchronization settings in Windows. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Time & Language" > "Date & Time". Make sure that "Set time automatically" is turned on, and that the correct time server is selected.
    3. Check the CMOS battery on your laptop's motherboard. This battery is responsible for keeping the date and time settings even when the laptop is turned off. If the battery is dead or dying, it could be causing this issue. You may need to replace the battery to fix the problem.

The most possible cause of this is that your Laptop's BIOS battery (usually CR2032 on the laptop motherboard) is depleted. Check your laptop's manual to see where it is located and how to replace it.

An alternative cause could be wrong NTP settings on the laptop that get time from an external time source but this is very low possibility if your laptop is not domain joined and none modified those settings.
