Developing and testing features or extensions for Microsoft Edge
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have opened %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default and I think I found the tabs I am looking for.
Then, I tried to open lsauer.net but it doesn't. Does this work for others ? If not, is there an alternative ?
Developing and testing features or extensions for Microsoft Edge
Hi @Sara Jimenez,
Normally, to restore tabs, you'll only need to go to History (Ctrl+H) --> Recently closed. This is the recommended way to restore your tabs.
If you need to restore the tabs that are not listed there, go to %localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sessions, and you will find some files like Session_xxx or Tabs_xxx. These files store your current tab information. Assuming you already have these files and you want to restore them:

Hi @Anonymous Thanks very much for the above tip. I stumbled upon it when I decided to write a solution/fix for it after searching several websites and not finding an answer, there was one extra step I had to perform which opened all the previous session tabs for me (same state as before the windows update restart)
Steps I took in restoring the Edge session after a Windows update reset of the Edge settings:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sessions, and you will find some files like Session_xxx or Tabs_xxx.
Hope the above will be of value to some in saving hours of research.
All the Best,
Fais
Sara, this is what you need to do if you ever lose your Tabs on restart or due to a crash or for whatever reason:-
I lost all my 300 PLUS! Tabs across 8 different Windows when I forgot to press the Restore button option which appeared, as usual. after I turned my computer back on (obviously this solution still works even if you don't get the Restore button option come up at all when you turn your computer back or even if your Tabs just disappear for whatever reason):-
UPDATE! - On point 7, as you probably know, you will probably not get the “Restore Tabs" option come up any longer as Microsoft have changed it, and now, every time you restart Edge, all the Windows and Tabs should now just restore automatically/fairly instantly without having to click on any “Restore Tabs" message - as long as you have the option checked in point 2 I mention above of course 😀.
