MS Teams update

Each day I open my laptop, I get a full-screen reminder: 'UPDATE TEAMS.' I click on the provided link, it downloads a folder -- I click on that (once scanned for issues) -- and then the downloaded system set-up document never functions. Instead, it just flips me back to the original full-screen page w/ 'Update' link. WHASSUP????

Many thanks to **[Robin Sheng-MSFT ]**for your response to my query. The resolve came with your tip about using CNTL/SHIFT/ESC to get to system files -- which allowed me to click on, and delete, all the offending start-up files that were creating my daily laptop launch experience. I'll be retaining this capability for future reference. Thank you again... BTE

HI @Barron E

According to your case description, you will receive a full-screen reminder of "Update Teams", but the file downloaded by the link you visited has problems.

It is recommended that you clear the Teams cache and open the client to manually update.

Or go to "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Apps". - Under "Apps and Features", find Microsoft Teams and click "Uninstall". Visit the following link to re-download and install Teams.

Nothing has changed; same pop up 'Update TEAMS' screen when I openy laptop. I've since removed the app from my laptop, hoping that would eliminate the issue. It didn't... so now I just live with it and click close the page.

Uninstall TEAMS: Uninstalling may leave residual files. You can use a dedicated uninstall tool (such as Revo Uninstaller) to ensure that all related files are completely removed.

Check startup items: It is possible that the TEAMS updater is still in the startup items. You can press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager and go to the "Startup" tab to see if there are any TEAMS-related items. If so, disable them.

Clean the registry: Residual entries in the registry can also cause this problem. You can use a tool such as CCleaner to clean the registry.

Reinstall and uninstall: Try reinstalling TEAMS and then uninstalling it. Sometimes this can solve the problem.
