I am considering moving my O365 webhooks to the Azure Devops app within Teams to avoid conducting another migration when O365 retires. Do i use powerautomate workflow or does azure devops app use a different connector other that O365 connector

I'm trying to decide the best way to move way from Office 365 coonector webhooks for my Azure DevOps notification to Microsoft Teams channel. My goal is to avoid migrating them again when Office 365 is eventually retired.

Specifically, I'm wondering:

  • Can I use Power Automate workflows for the notification?
  • Or does Azure DevOps App within Teams use a different connector than the Office 365 connector?

Essentially, I'm looking for the most cost effective way to move away from O365 connector.

    Hi @oyairouwa

To move your Azure DevOps notifications to Microsoft Teams and avoid future migrations, you have a couple of options:

    1.Azure DevOps App within Teams:

This app uses its own connectors and does not rely on the Office 365 connector. You can integrate Azure DevOps directly with Teams to receive notifications about work item updates, pull requests, code commits, builds, and release deployments. This integration is more scalable and secure compared to the Office 365 connectors.

    2.Power Automate Workflows:

You can also use Power Automate to create custom notifications that send notifications from Azure workflow DevOps to Teams. This method provides flexibility and can be tailored to your specific needs. However, it might require more setup and maintenance compared to using the Azure DevOps app directly.
