Hi everyone, I need to log in into my account, but Microsoft Authenticator was installed on an old device. I don't have the old smartphone and when I try to log in I can only choose from "Enter the code displayed in the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device" or "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app". I have tried to install the app on my mobile phone, but to configure it I need to approve the request on the old device...

    1. Access Recovery Options
    • Go to the Microsoft account Sign-in page.
    • Select "I can't use my authenticator app right now" or "Other ways to sign in" if available.
    • You might have alternative options, such as receiving a verification code via email or SMS. Follow the prompts to verify your identity.

    1. Use Backup Codes
    • If you had previously saved recovery or backup codes when setting up the authenticator, use one of these codes to regain access.
    • Backup codes are one-time-use and can bypass the need for the authenticator app.

    1. Contact Microsoft Support
    • Visit Microsoft Account Recovery.
    • Provide the necessary information about your account to verify your identity.
    • Microsoft will guide you through the process of regaining access. If needed, be prepared to provide proof of identity.
