Hello. Yesterday i clicked link that was on Google and got my laptop infected by virus. I checked by 3 antiviruses if it really got infected and they found 10 suspicious files. I deleted all of them and then checked my laptop by windows defender. It found trojan horse and deleted it. Now my question is should I hard reset my laptop, or windows defender completely removed my problem?

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

A hard reset can be an effective way to remove most viruses and malware from your system. A hard reset typically erases all data on your hard drive, including the operating system, applications, and personal files, and reinstalls the original operating system. Before performing a hard reset, make sure to back up any important data, as the reset will erase everything on your laptop.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Hi NL,

No need to fully format Windows. I personally use Malwarebytes free scan to ensure the system is Malware free.

If it comes clear, the device is good to go!
