The answer turned out to be Display Scaling. When I went from 125 to 200, Money is now legible. I experimented with the right scaling so that other apps didn't have to suffer. 140 is what triggered Money to be legible.
MS Money on Win 11 uses a tiny font size that is unsustainable with my old eyes
I succumbed to the doom warnings about my Lenovo not being compatible with Win 11 and bought a new HP on Win 11. One of the primary apps I use is MS Money. Yes, I know it's been sunset for over a decade, but it's a really good app. MS Money has no font size zoom setting. I seem to recall when I went to Win 10 on the Lenovo that I was able to increase the font size without making my other apps have a giant font size, can't remember now what that was. Now on Win 11, I cannot find any way to do it. Things I have tried based on my bing searches:
- Settings > Display > Custom Scaling to 125. All other apps appear giant now, but no change in MS Money
- Settings > Accessiblity > Text Size to 120. Ditto above.
- Windows search on "DPI change the size of text". That just brought me to the same display settings as #1 above
- Edge > Settings > Zoom to 125. Ditto #1 results
- Checked Windows Update, uploaded 2 drivers it said I might need. No change.
- Run program in compatability mode. That made a giant change. a) the font size was now readable, but the screen only supported about 25% of the app's page, making it unsustainable for usage, b) didn't allow me to multi-task other apps.
- 1 of the answers I found that had something to do with DPI, which I can no longer find, ended up causing a warning to come up every time I launch Money now: "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Money Plus US DMRL Bits"
- I even paid an app called JustAnswers $5 to tell me that if the app doesn't have Zoom capability, then it uses Windows font size. Uh, no it doesn't.
Is there any help out there that will let me run MS Money in Win 11 with an acceptable font size? Or must I run this sunset app on a sunseting operating system forever and ever?

But seems to work for some people. Worth a shot. The following may improve MM on high def display screens:
- Open Start menu, right click on MM icon --> more --> left click "file location".
- In the newly opened "ProgramData>Microsoft>Windows>Programs>Microsoft Money Plus" folder right click the MM shortcut --> then left click "Properties".
- Left click on the "Compatibility" tab.
- Three quarters down the page is a "Change high DPI settings" button. Left click it.
- Near the bottom of the page is the "High DPI scaling override" section. Select the "High DPI scaling behavior" check box.
- Select "System Enhanced" from the option menu below the check box.
- Click on OK twice as you back out of the menus.
- Open MM to see if the changes improve MM's display, if not, unwind the changes
