Network Sharing is acting odd.

Howdy!

Summarize the problem:

Within a File Explorer window, when I share a folder under the Network drop down, my PC name and the folder will appear but then disappear after I reload the window, open a new windows like it doesn't stick? //localhost will show the folder shared and others on the network don't see the shared folder at any point. However, if I share the folder with a link option, others on the network can access the folder but not see my PC under Explorer folder -> Networks -> My PC name -> The folder name. Note: I can see their shared folders just fine. They can see each other's shared folders just fine, just not mine.

No error messages.

Be descriptive:

I'm running into an interesting issue. I'm attempting to share a folder on my network with other Windows 11 users. (I have done this many times before). Under C:\ I created a new folder Levi's Network Share: C:\Levi's Network Share

Past troubleshooting:

  • Restarted PC

Under Advanced Sharing Settings->

Private Networks:

  • Network Discovery is on
  • Checked: SEtup Network Connected devices Automatically
  • File and Printer sharing is on

All Networks:

Public folder sharing is on.

File sharing connection 128-bit encryption (Recommended)

password protected sharing Off.

For this folder I'm trying to share:

  • Under Properties -> Sharing tab -> Share... -> Choose people to share with (Everyone) -> Share button -> Confirmed UAC warning -> Your Folder is Shared -> If use the Copy link and give it to my wife, she can access the folder I'm trying to share. Levi's Network Share (file://SEEONX/Levi's%20Network%20Share)
  • Under Properties for the folder Advanced Sharing has "Share this folder" checked.

Past Troubleshooting:

  • (File Sharing over a network in Windows) File sharing over a network in Windows - Microsoft Support
  • CMD as admin ran -> DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow no issues found
  • The other PCs show up on my network; I can access them, and they can access each other's shared folders.
  • Tested under a new local Admin account same issue.

What is odd is under File Explorer on the bottom left of the folder Network dropdown. (See the last screenshot) When I share the folder, it will show SeeonX under the network tab(My PC) and then the folder, but if I open the folder or change directories like a new window, the new listing SeeonX, is gone from under the Network drop down. The Network drop-down in Explorer should show my PC name, SeeonX, then the folder. This does stay that way, nor at any point does anyone else on the network see my PC-shared folder appear. I don't know why. //localhost does show the folder is shared. Again the Copy link above does work: file://SEEONX/Levi's%20Network%20Share for my wife and room mate they can see the folder I'm sharing with the link. Thus I know the PCs are not blocked.

I would love some help here, or I will have to factory reset my PC. I just passed my Core1 A+ working on Core 2, and this is really embarrassing, but I need help.

Include system information here is my MSinfo: https://drive.google.com/file/d/193vbStuK5NkBQGrJj0S6yEHjSBmPnykY/view?usp=sharing

    Hello,

    You can check if the share permissions are set correctly under Advanced Sharing in the Properties section of the shared folder.

    Regards,

    Zunhui

    You are checking the following Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup. Open "Control Panel" > "System" > "Advanced System Settings" and view it in the "Computer Name" tab.
