Hello Teams,
Hope you have a lovely day!
It sounds like you are experiencing issues with network connectivity and file sharing on your Windows 11 device. To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:
- Check if your network adapter is working properly.
You can do this by going to Device Manager, expanding the Network adapters section, and checking if there are any yellow exclamation marks or red X marks next to your network adapter.
2.Network sharing setting
Check the advanced sharing settings to ensure everything is configured correctly:
- Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings.
- Ensure network discovery is on, file and printer sharing is enabled, and password protected sharing is configured according to your preference.
3. Check if your firewall settings are blocking network access. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection, and checking if your firewall is turned on and if it is blocking any incoming or outgoing connections.
Since SMB is used for file sharing over networks, ensure that SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is enabled, as some older devices (like the Nintendo 3DS) might require it:
- Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off.
- Scroll down to find SMB1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support and make sure it is checked.
5.Restart SMB Services
Sometimes the services related to SMB might need a restart:
- Open the Command Prompt as an administrator.
- You can also restart the workstation service using net stop LanmanWorkstation and net start LanmanWorkstation.
6.Update Network Drivers
Outdated or corrupted network drivers can cause issues:
- Device Manager -> Network adapters. Right-click your network adapter and select Update driver.
- Choose to search automatically for updated driver software
If none of these steps work, you may need to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.
Best Regards
Rosy
