    Hello  Charley Arthur,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

This error message usually appears when there is an issue with the security settings on your device or browser that is preventing it from connecting to the verification server. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Make sure that your device or browser is up to date with the latest security patches and updates.
    2. Clear your browser cache and cookies, and then try again.
    3. Disable any browser extensions or add-ons that may be interfering with the connection.
    4. Try using a different browser or device to see if the issue persists.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Haijian Shan

The message is appearing for me in a box that pops up from Azure Information Protection Viewer when I'm attempting to set up a new Microsoft Account. How do I clear the browser cache and cookies, disable browser extensions or add ons, or use a different browser from this application?

How do I ensure my device is up to date with latest security patches?

This explanation I believe assumes we have some basic knowledge of how these apps work that we don't have
