While trying to map a drive to my Tormach CNC machine, I encountered a network problem. I went to me Windows Credentials to make sure that I had access to my machine. My User Name and password were good, but every time I went to sign it wouldn't accept them. The computer prompted this: You can't access this shared folder because your organization's security policies block unauthenticated guest access. These policies help protect your PC from unsafe or malicious devices on the network. I never had a problem before I installed the update. I could post the process without any problems whatsoever until the update went through. Any ideas on what may have occurred and do you have any suggestions? My update is Windows 11 Version 24H2.

    Hello

I recommend that you use Registry Editor to enable secure guest login, see the following steps:

    1. Open Registry Editor. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LanmanWorkstation.

Note: If the key does not exist, you need to create it. Hold down the "Windows" key (right-click), select "New" > "Key" and name the switch "LanmanWorkstation".

    1. Hold down the "LanmanWorkstation" key (right-click), select "New" > "DWORD (32-bit) Value" and name it "AllowInsecureGuestAuth". Double-click, set "Value Data" to "1", and press Enter.

Note If you modify the registry incorrectly, you can cause serious problems. So, follow these steps carefully. For additional protection, back up the registry before modifying it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see Backing up and restoring the registry in Windows.
