New Remote Desktop Connection update is causing issues viewing excel over the remote desktop

So due to having to run some legacy programs, we have remote users connect to a remote desktop via the Remote Desktop Connections. One department uses excel sheets that are exported from that program in order to view data. However, ever since an update (not sure which one) sometimes mid December 2024, the excel is just a glitch mess. If i can fullscreen I can somewhat interact with it, but it is still lines and gibberish on the side like it's not meeting with the resolution or something. I luckly can get them to save the file that way, and then open it on their local machine via the shared drive, however, this is a much more time consuming process of course. Any clue why this has suddenly started occurring would be of great help.

PS: I took a screenshot but the png seem to fail to upload..

    Hello,

This is a widespread issue. It is also discussed in the Microsoft Q&A post: Upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 causes remote desktop connections to Windows 7 machines not to show graphics correctly. - Microsoft Q&A

A temporary solution involves replacing mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll file with one from an earlier Windows version, such as from 23H2.

I regret that I cannot provide the exact root cause of this issue at this time. However, I believe the development team is already investigating it and working diligently to find a solution.

    I hope this information helps.
