I had a problem when updating Windows 11 to version 24h2. When connecting via RDP to Windows Server 2008, the image is displayed in stripes and it seems like not all elements are drawn.

    Hello,

There appears to be a bug affecting MSTSC in Windows 11 version 24H2. Although numerous users have encountered this problem, it has not yet been officially documented among the known issues for version 24H2 till now.

A temporary workaround involves replacing the mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll files from an earlier version, such as 23H2.

Users have been providing feedback to the engineering teams, so I am confident that they are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution.

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

    Karlie Weng

    Hi Karlie

We are experiencing the same issue at a client with Windows 11 24H2 that is connecting to a Server 2008 (We are going to upgrade in future.)

Where can you download the mstsc.exe and mstscax.dll files for Windows 11 23H2?

    Kind regards,

    Hendrik de Vos
