My PC settings won't allow me to turn off safe search stating "Some of these settings are managed by my organization." When I do remove it, it goes back to strick.

    Hello  kat cruz1,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

It sounds like SafeSearch is being enforced by an organization, which is likely the case if you're using a computer that is managed by a school, workplace, or another organization. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check with Your Organization's IT Department

    1. Contact IT Support:

If the PC belongs to your school, workplace, or another organization, the SafeSearch settings might be enforced by their IT policies. Reach out to your IT department for assistance.

    Check for Browser-Specific Settings

    1. Clear Browser Settings:

Sometimes, browser-specific settings or extensions might enforce SafeSearch. Clear your browser's cache, cookies, and disable any extensions that might be enforcing SafeSearch.

    Windows Group Policies

    1. Group Policy Editor (for Windows Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions):
      • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
      • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the Group Policy Editor.
      • Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Internet Communication Management > Internet Communication settings.
      • Look for settings related to search or SafeSearch and adjust accordingly. Note that changing group policies might require administrator privileges.

    Check Windows Settings

    1. Windows Settings:
      • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > App & browser control.
      • Look for settings involving web content filtering and adjust them if possible.

    Parental Controls

    1. Parental Controls:

If parental controls are enabled on your device, SafeSearch might be enforced through these settings.

    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
    • Check for any parental controls and adjust the settings if applicable.

    Third-Party Software

    1. Third-Party Software:

Security software or parental control software from third parties may also enforce SafeSearch.

    • Check any installed security or parental control software for SafeSearch settings and adjust them.

    Additional Tips

    1. Administrator Privileges:

Ensure you have administrator privileges on your computer, as some changes may require elevated permissions.

Remember that if the computer is managed by an organization, they might have legitimate reasons for enforcing SafeSearch, and bypassing these restrictions without permission could violate their policies.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Haijian Shan
