LAN connection on Laptop disables ability to connect to a specific Network (NAS) device.

After installing a new router (Netgear Orbi 860 Mesh system) I discovered I can not connect to one specific NAS on my network. However, I can connect to my other two NAS. If I remove the LAN connection to my laptop (Windows 10) and connect it to WiFi, I can access all three NAS.) This only occurs with my laptop. My other two computers on the network (both are also Windows 10) work correctly. They will connect via ethernet or wifi w/o any problems. Any help or suggestions?

Thanks,

Harold

    Hello,

Based on the information provided, it seems that the issue is specific to your laptop. Here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check the network settings on your laptop: Ensure that the network settings on your laptop are configured correctly. Verify that the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS settings are properly configured.
    2. Update network drivers: Update the network drivers on your laptop to the latest version. Outdated or incompatible drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues.
    3. Disable and re-enable the network adapter: Disable the network adapter on your laptop and then re-enable it. This can help refresh the network connection and resolve any temporary issues.
    4. Reset TCP/IP stack: Open the Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands one by one: netsh winsock reset netsh int ip reset After running these commands, restart your laptop and check if the issue is resolved.
    5. Check firewall and antivirus settings: Ensure that the firewall and antivirus software on your laptop are not blocking the connection to the specific NAS. Temporarily disable them and check if you can access the NAS.
    6. Reset the router: Try resetting the Netgear Orbi 860 Mesh system router. This can help resolve any configuration issues that might be causing the problem.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards

Many thanks for the response to my question. I finally resolved the issue. It seems there was an issue associated with the NAS password.

    Thanks, again.
