Hello
I have two questions:
I would like to know if this happens often or occasionally?
Is the computer stuck on a black screen and can't get into the system or can it get into the system after a black screen?
To troubleshooting this issue, we recommend you can try the following methods:
- Reboot your computer.
- Update your graphics driver. A graphics driver is a software that controls how your computer displays images on the screen. If it’s outdated or corrupted, it can cause problems like black screen or horizontal lines. To update your graphics driver, you need to go to Safe Mode first. About how to go to Safe Mode, please refer to this link: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support. Once you’re in Safe Mode, you can update your graphics driver in Device Manager.
- Adjust your display settings. Sometimes, the black screen or horizontal lines can be caused by an incompatible screen resolution or refresh rate. To check and change your display settings, follow these steps:
- Right-click on an empty area of your desktop and select Display settings
- Under Scale and layout, make sure the resolution is set to the recommended value
- Under Advanced display settings, click on Display adapter properties for Display
- Click on the Monitor tab and make sure the refresh rate is set to the recommended value
- Click OK and see if the problem is fixed
Regarding your question about updates, it is possible that an update could have caused the issue, but it's difficult to say without more information. We certainly do recommend that you install the latest update in a timely manner to ensure that your system is running stably.
Best Regards,
Hania Lian
