Hello

I'm getting an error when backing up for Server 2016. There is no problem when backing up manually normally, but when I create a backup with a scheduler, I get this error. How can I fix.

    Hi Ali Özgür KARA,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.

Encountering "The parameter is incorrect" error is likely due to incorrect settings in the scheduler. This error typically involves the configuration of the backup task or scheduler settings. Below are some troubleshooting methods you can try:

    1. Check scheduler settings: Ensure that when creating the backup task, you've correctly set all necessary parameters, including backup destination, frequency, type, etc. Check for any input errors or incomplete parameters.
    2. Verify target location: Confirm that the backup destination specified in the scheduler is correct and that you have sufficient permissions to perform the backup operation. Ensure the target location is accessible and that you have appropriate access rights.
    3. Check backup tool version: If you're using third-party backup tools or scripts, ensure they are compatible with your Server 2016 version and updated to the latest version. Sometimes, older versions of backup tools may be incompatible with the latest operating system versions, leading to parameter errors.
    4. Review backup logs: Examine the logs of the backup task for more detailed information to pinpoint the specific cause of the error. Backup logs typically record any error messages or abnormal conditions that led to the backup failure.
    5. Recreate scheduler task: Try deleting the current scheduler task and creating a new one. Sometimes, scheduler task configurations may encounter issues, and recreating the task might resolve them.
    6. Check system error logs: Look into the system event logs to identify any errors or warning messages related to the backup. These logs might offer more insight into the root cause of the parameter error.
    7. Contact technical support: If you've tried all the above methods and still can't resolve the issue, consider reaching out to the technical support team of your backup software or your system administrator for further assistance and support.

Try one or more of the above methods to help you resolve the "The parameter is incorrect" error encountered during backup, or stick to manual backups only.

    Best regards
