Description: After formatting my computer and attempting to install Windows 10, the installation process has been abnormally slow, taking up to 10 hours to complete. Initially, the installation took only about 10 minutes, but after reformatting and attempting to reinstall, it takes significantly longer and never finishes in a reasonable amount of time.

Steps Taken:

  1. I performed a clean installation of Windows 10 using a USB flash drive.
  2. I tried both UEFI and Legacy boot modes, but the issue persists.
  3. The installation reaches a point where it hangs for several hours, or sometimes, the progress is too slow to complete within a reasonable time frame.
  4. I also attempted to update BIOS and used the recommended version of Windows for my system.

Potential Causes:

  • The problem may be related to BIOS settings, such as the boot mode (UEFI/Legacy) or Secure Boot settings.
  • The issue could also stem from slow USB drives, especially if using an older USB 2.0 stick instead of a USB 3.0.
  • There might be problems with the hard drive or storage configuration.
  • Corrupted installation files or an incomplete system image could be causing the installation to slow down significantly.

Steps I’ve Tried to Resolve the Issue:

  1. Checked and updated BIOS settings (e.g., switched from UEFI to Legacy mode, turned off Secure Boot).
  2. Re-created the installation USB drive to ensure no corruption in the files.
  3. Tested using a different USB port, preferably USB 3.0.
  4. Attempted to install using a new copy of Windows downloaded from the official Microsoft website.
  5. Removed any external devices like printers or extra hard drives to avoid conflicts during the installation.

Despite these steps, the installation process remains exceptionally slow, and I am unable to proceed with the clean installation.
