    Hello,

After the Windows 11 update, it is a known issue that the scanner is no longer working. This issue is mainly due to a faulty eSCL protocol in Windows 11, version 24H2, which prevents the device from switching from eSCL mode to USB mode when needed, causing connectivity issues. Microsoft has addressed this issue with Windows Update (KB5048667) and later released on December 10, 2024.

You can try following these steps:

Make sure that your computer has the latest Windows update, which is KB5048667 or later. This can be done through the Windows Update feature.

    2024 年 12 月 10 日 - KB5048667(操作系统内部版本 26100.2605)- Microsoft 支持

If you've already installed the latest update and the problem persists, here are some things you can try:

Restart your computer, check that the printer driver is up to date, and if not, update the printer driver.

If your printer supports the eSCL protocol, make sure that the printer is set up correctly and that it is able to switch from eSCL mode to USB mode correctly.

Check and restart the Print Spooler service. Manually add the printer again after removing it, making sure to replace the current driver.

Turn off the firewall temporarily: Windows 11's security settings may be preventing drivers from installing. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security. Go to Firewall & Network Protection and turn off the firewall of the active network.

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

    Jingjing Wu

I have the identical issue. Did you find a solution?

Windows 11 simply does not support a lot of older printers after this update. I found this to be the case with my Canon MF3240 Image Class. Even though it has worked in the past with no issue. Now windows simply will not recognise the drivers or let you install the software package for this printer under any circumstances. Windows will not recognise it as a shared device on a windows 10 pc on the network either, so I have to do all my printing from that machine. Hopefully they will reverse this choice in the future. I don't know why Microsoft goes out of its way to irritate lifetime costomers like this. I hope they reverse course on this type of "update" but I won't hold my breath.

Before I give up, I'm going to try the solution in the video, which is the most recent post in this thread: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/win11-24h2-installed-now-no-network-sharing.29035/page-4#post-560575

I'll let you know how it goes.

I solved my problem. I didn't watch the video. Here's what worked:

Rolled back to 23H2 using system image.

Let Windows update itself to 24H2.

    Reinstalled printer driver.
