Hi:

Can you install two USB-C expansion cards in one server and they both work?

I have a startech 3.1 USB expansion card in my system. I need to add another expansion card to the system. Both of these cards use the same driver, can this be done?

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Yes, you can install two USB-C expansion cards in one server, and they should both work even if they use the same driver. Here are some key points to consider:

Driver Compatibility: Since both cards use the same driver, ensure that the driver supports multiple instances of the hardware. Most modern drivers are designed to handle multiple devices of the same type.

PCIe Slots: Make sure your server has enough available PCIe slots to accommodate both expansion cards. Each card will need its own slot.

Power Supply: Check that your server's power supply can handle the additional power requirements of the second expansion card.

BIOS/UEFI Settings: Sometimes, you may need to adjust settings in the BIOS/UEFI to ensure both cards are recognized and configured correctly.

Operating System: Ensure that your operating system supports multiple USB-C expansion cards and can manage them effectively.

    Best Regards,

    Wesley Li
