Hi All

Disabled a computer account and then enabled it but still cannot log in to the domain. Still get trust relationship error.

The workstation has no local admin account to log in to and re add to domain.

The domain user is not an admin to the PC.

Is there any other way to re establish domain membership? Apart from using Hirens to boot and enabling admin account etc and then re joining

The computer account is re enabled on AD

    Hello DesiganReddy,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Do you have more than one Domain Controller? If so, after you enable this disabled computer account, please make sure the disabled computer account is enabled on all Domain Controllers.

If re-enabling the computer account in Active Directory did not resolve the trust relationship issue, you can try resetting the computer account password. To do this, you can use the following steps:

    1. Log in to a domain controller or a computer with RSAT tools installed.
    2. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
    3. Locate the computer account that is having the trust relationship issue.
    4. Right-click on the computer account and select Reset Account.
    5. Restart the computer and try to log in to the domain again.

If resetting the computer account password does not work, you may need to disjoin the computer from the domain and rejoin it. However, since you mentioned that there is no local admin account on the computer, you may need to use a bootable media with administrative privileges to reset the local admin password and then disjoin and rejoin the computer to the domain.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
