SCSI Disk (0,0) the signed images hash is not allowed (db) when p2v a Server 2019 machine?

Hi ,

I'm at my wits end here :( I've p2v'd dozens of machines, but never had this issue. Ive used disk2vhd and Starwinds to capture a Microsoft Server 2019 machine. Initially I read that it may be secure boot in VM settings. Tried booting with that enabled and disabled. Disabled, the machine doesn't see the OS disk at all.

Ive tried disabling secure boot on the physical machine and recapturing, same result. Is there something I may be missing here? Any help will be greatly appreciated! The OS is installed on a Dell BOSS card if that makes any difference. Ive tried p2v on the entire machine and tried converting individual volumes but no luck

    Hi Gavyn,

    Hope you’re doing well.

I have summarized the following three possible reasons for your reference:

    1. One possible cause of the error message “SCSI disk (0,0) the signed images hash is not allowed (db)” is that Secure Boot is enabled on the virtual machine. Secure Boot is a feature that prevents the system from getting hijacked at boot time by only allowing specifically authorized boot images to load. So, we need to try to disable Secure Boot.
    2. Another possible cause of the error message is that the BOSS card firmware or driver is outdated or incompatible with the virtual machine. So, we suggest you update update the BOSS card firmware or driver.
    3. A third possible cause of the error message is that the P2V conversion tool (just like Disk2VHD) did not capture the BOSS card correctly or completely.

Hope my answer can help you!

    Best Regards,

    Xu Gu

    Disabling secure boot worked. Thanks!
