Hello,

I've got this message for my account : xxxxxxxx.onmicrosoft.com :

NOTICE: Classic administrator roles (Co-Administrator and Service Administrator) will be retired on August 31, 2024. Starting April 3, 2024, you won't be able to add new Co-Administrators. This date was recently extended. Remove unnecessary Co-Administrators and use Azure RBAC for fine-grained access control

xxxxxxxx.onmicrosoft.com is main account, is this account must convert to RBAC too? Please advice.

I understand that you received an email about converting Azure classic administrator roles to Azure RBAC roles.

Starting April 30, 2025, any Co-Administrator or Service Administrator role assignments will lose access. Microsoft sends this email as a precautionary measure to help organizations avoid unexpected access issues.

Could you please confirm whether your account has any active subscriptions?

If your account owns any subscriptions, check if there are any Classic Administrator roles existed. If so, you will need to convert them to Azure RBAC roles to retain access.

Steps to Check in Azure Portal:

1.Navigate to Azure Portal → Subscriptions

2.Select your subscription → Go to Classic Administrators tab

3.If no users are listed, it confirms that your subscription has no classic administrator roles

4.If you manage multiple subscriptions, repeat the same steps for each.

If there are no Classic Administrator roles listed, no action is required, and you can safely ignore this email.

Hi,

The account is exist in my subscription classic administrators, so I must assign that main account to RBAC?

When I try to convert to RBAC, the Next Button is disable, what should I do?

Based on your information, I confirm that you have the Service Administrator role.

Yes, you need to convert the Service Administrator role to the Owner role (RBAC role)

Please click on Review + Assign to assign the Owner role and then remove the Service Administrator role assignment.
