Hi,

I followed the tutorial https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/tutorials/deploy-chat-web-app exactly. I am able to interface with my chat app in Azure AI Foundry Playground, when deploying as a web app however no matter what pricing plan I choose I receive this error when I enter text related to the data I added (writing just Hello returns a general response):

Error code: 400 - {'error': {'requestid': 'xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xx'', 'code': 400, 'message': 'Invalid Azure OpenAI configuration detected: Invalid embedding endpoint or deployment'}}

I have tried everything from rebuilding from scratch and deleting all resources multiple times and I am able to interact perfectly fine in the Azure AI Playground. I resolved the Manage Identity error by popularing AZURE_SEARCH_KEY for the web app. Could someone please tell me how to resolve this error?

Expected behavior Chat returns like it does in Azure AI Playground.

Also I checked the AZURE_OPENAI_RESOURCE, AZURE_OPENAI_EMBEDDING_ENDPOINT, AZURE_OPENAI_EMBEDDING_KEY for the web app they are all correct, any thoughts on what to do? Thanks

Could you cross check the embedding model name and OpenAI endpoint name in environment variables from webapp and re-deploy the webapp.

Hi I checked the OpenAI endpoint name and embedding model name in environment variables and they do match what they should, yet same error appears after re-deploying. I appear to be able to use the REST API with the web app but the utility you have to access the web app directly doesn't seem to work. How does this factor in, is the web app only usable safely through the REST API? I am concerned about reliability. Thanks

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I checked through closed issues It looks like webapp specific issue.

Could you check below steps and let us know.

Please remove the values in “AZURE_OPENAI_EMBEDDING_KEY/AZURE_OPENAI_EMBEDDING_ENDPOINT ” value in environment variables and re-deploy.

Create another webapp with same resources as the existing webapp might be corrupt.

Thanks for your help. I tried both fixes (1 and 2) and they result in the following error:

Error code: 404 - {'error': {'code': '404', 'message': 'Resource not found'}}

Still the REST API works and the direct link to the site does not as seen in the below photo:

How does this factor in, is the web app only usable safely through the REST API? I am concerned about reliability. Thanks

Actually, Web app is needed while you want web application integrated with Azure OpenAI, REST api works once you deploy the model.

After the discussion, I understand your requirement is that need to create a vector search index on your chunked data, also I can see you raised new case for that.
