    Hi @GeA Srl - Luca Filleti  ,

    Welcome to our forum!

There are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue where Outlook for Mac (new version) is automatically marking PEC emails (Aruba domain) as read, even when you haven’t opened them.

    1. Disable "Mark as Read" Preview Settings

Outlook may be marking emails as read due to preview settings:

    • Go to Outlook > Settings (⌘ + ,) → Mail → Reading.
    • Uncheck:
      • Mark items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane
        • Mark messages as read after X seconds (set to "Never").
        • Restart Outlook and test.

    2. Check Server-Side Rules (Aruba PEC Webmail)

Some PEC systems auto-mark emails as read via server rules:

    • Log in to your PEC account via webmail (Aruba’s web interface).
    • Check for:
      • Filters or rules that mark emails as read.
        • Auto-forwarding or IMAP client settings that alter read status.
        • Disable any suspicious rules and test again.

    4. Create a New Outlook Profile

Corrupted local profiles can cause sync issues:

    • Close Outlook.
    • Navigate to ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles.
    • Rename the existing profile folder (e.g., Main Profile → Main Profile_OLD).
    • Restart Outlook to create a fresh profile.
    • Re-add your PEC accounts and test.
