Azure Managed Disks pricing

So if i have azure VM with OS disk 128GB with standard SSD i will be charged for full not based on the usage of space. But if i have standard HDD 128GB OS disk ,i will be charged only for what i use ?For example in HDD i will be charged for using only 70GB even though my total size is 128GB but in Standard SSD and Premium i will charged for full even though i dont use full 128GB ?

The pricing for Azure Managed Disks, particularly for Standard SSDs and Standard HDDs, is as follows:

Standard SSDs and Premium SSDs: Both types are billed for the full provisioned size, regardless of actual usage. For example, if you have a 128GB Standard SSD, you’ll be charged for the entire 128GB.
Standard HDDs: These are charged based on actual used space. If you have a 128GB Standard HDD but use only 70GB, you will be charged for the 70GB used.

Therefore, your understanding is correct: Standard SSDs and Premium SSDs are billed for the full size, while Standard HDDs are billed based on actual usage.

Hi,

You will be charged for full size in all three cases (Standard SSD, Premium SSD, Standard HDD) that you mentioned. For example, for 128 GiB LRS OS Disk in East US region:

Premium SSD P10 $19.71/month + outbound data transfers (if any)

Standard SSD E10 $9.60/month + transaction charges + outbound data transfers (if any)

Standard HDD S10 $5.89/month + transaction charges + outbound data transfers (if any)
