HI, is it possible to scan sharepoint libraries, M365 repos(Teams, OneDrive etcc.,) and Storage accounts using IP Scanner? I have seen a few information online that the scanner doesn't support scanning but would like to know if there is any change to that or any alternative way to do it? thanks.

Hi @Niharika Ch It looks like you're trying to figure out if you can scan SharePoint libraries, Microsoft 365 repositories (like Teams and OneDrive), and Azure Storage accounts with an IP scanner.

To clarify, IP scanners are typically used for network discovery and identifying active devices on a network, rather than scanning specific data repositories or document libraries directly. Regarding your specific needs:

    1. SharePoint Libraries: You can scan SharePoint document libraries using the Microsoft Purview Information Protection scanner, but it primarily operates on SharePoint Server versions 2013, 2016, and 2019. It does not support scanning via a simple IP scanner. You would need to set it up according to specific requirements (like ensuring versioning is in place).
    2. M365 Repositories: Similar to SharePoint, using Microsoft Purview scanning tools is more appropriate. OneDrive locations can't be directly added as repositories for scanning.
    3. Storage Accounts: For Azure Storage, you would typically use Azure-native services for compliance and scanning rather than IP scanners.

Unfortunately, if you're looking for any changes regarding IP scanning capabilities specifically, there has been no substantial update to indicate that this functionality has been added. As an alternative, consider using the Microsoft Purview scanner or related Azure compliance and security tools for the scanning you aim to perform.
