To confirm GPU is faulty or it's a hardware fault -try Linux Live USB (Ubuntu) – boot and see if the GPU initializes correctly there. If not, it's hardware.

Details
I’m experiencing persistent issues with my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU on Windows 11. The GPU shows up in Device Manager but is disabled with Code 43. I’ve tried all typical solutions, but nothing resolves the issue.
Here are the details:
- Device: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
- Error: Code 43 in Device Manager
- Driver version: 32.0.15.7283 (DCH)
- System: Windows 11 (64-bit, up to date)
- Intel iGPU is working normally
- No eGPU used (GPU is internal)
- Laptop BIOS is stock, Secure Boot disabled
I’ve already tried:
- Fully uninstalling NVIDIA drivers using DDU in Safe Mode
- Reinstalling older and newer drivers (OEM & NVIDIA direct)
- All available Windows updates applied
- BIOS reset to default
Additional error from System Information / Event Log:
Beim Start des Geräts PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_28E0&SUBSYS_17311025&REV_A1\4&1b0d88ee&0&0008 ist ein Problem aufgetreten.

Dienst: BasicDisplay
Problem: 0xA
Problemstatus: 0xC01E0438
nvidia-smi
fails with:
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver.
At this point, I’m trying to determine if:
- This is a known firmware/hardware compatibility issue
- I should attempt a modified driver or INF patch
- The GPU might be faulty (though it’s brand new)
Let me know if you need hardware ID dumps or logs. I’d appreciate any advanced-level guidance.
