Hi team,

With the upcoming deprecation of gpt-4o-realtime-preview-2024-12-17 on July 1, 2025, will Azure be adding support for the newer gpt-4o-realtime-preview-2025-06-03 model that OpenAI recently released? If so, is there an estimated timeline for availability?

Thanks!

    Hey there, Aidan Mattrick

You can view Azure OpenAI models here and their availability here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/openai/concepts/models?tabs=global-standard%2Cstandard-chat-completions#global-standard-model-availability

There is a gpt-4o-realtime-preview that is currently in preview now. You can find out more about this here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/openai/how-to/realtime-audio-webrtc

In terms of announcements, you can see if you can create a service health alert so you can get notified. This may include what models you can move to. You can access service health by going to https://portal.azure.com

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan

    HI Aidan Mattrick

The gpt-4o-realtime-preview model, as indicated in the context, has a retirement date of "No earlier than July 2, 2025." This means that while it may be deprecated, it will not be retired before that date. The documentation specifies that older versions of preview models will be deprecated rather than retired. Therefore, your deployment of the latest version should remain operational until the specified retirement date, and you can continue to use it without immediate concern for retirement.

    Thank You.
