We have enabled Cloud Defender at the subscription level, however there are some resources in these that are not being covered correctly.

One example: the storage account recommendations are not showing up. There are definitely some recommendations that should be there.

Looking at one storage account in particular:

  • Microsoft Defender for Storage is marked as "On" (enabled at subscription)
  • Public Access is enabled in the networking tab (usually a critical security issue)
  • No recommendations exist

If you're using the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark (MCSB) or Azure Security Benchmark, ensure this policy is enabled.

    Hello anthony bower,

We understand that you have enabled Defender for Cloud at Subscription level and recommendations are not showing for few resources.

I request you to check the below settings in addition to the document shared by Catherine Kyalo in the above comment to make sure recommendations are enabled.

Navigate to Azure Portal - Microsoft Defender for Cloud - Management - Environment settings and Select the subscription.

Here, you can see the plans and status. I suggest you ensure Microsoft Defender for Storage is set to "On"
