    Hi Tony.

As once you switch from Smart Mode to Expert Mode you can't switch back, I'd say that if in the Top Menu you do not see the option "Tools > Switch to Expert Mode" it means you are already in the Expert Mode.

Yestarday I set up a new account and it was created directly in Expert Mode; in addition to this, your dashboard and, most important, the top (see attachment) and the left menu you see are the same of the expert mode...so I will definitively say you're in expert mode.

    Ciao

    Gaetano

    Thanks Gaetano,

these very large companies are notoriously difficult to contact and none of them seem to give a hoot about their customers. There is also so much out of date info on the net when you try to find a solution to a problem.

As i said microsoft still say that all accounts are created in smart mode, plainly this is not true, to make it easier for newbies, (sure its not abbout maximizing their profits).

    Thanks again,

    Tony.

    Hello Tony,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Advertising Community Forum!

I understand you are wanting to switch your account to Expert Mode. To switch from Smart Mode to Expert Mode simply go to the Tools button at the top right of your screen, and select Switch To Expert Mode from the top menu. If there is no option to make the switch that means that you are already in Expert Mode.

I have included a link below to learn more about switching to Expert Mode and the differences and benefits it can have compared to Smart Mode.

Smart campaigns: Is switching to Expert Mode right for you? (microsoft.com)

I hope this information answered your query!

    Hi Gaetano,

    thanks for that.

I set up a trial campaign and looks the same as your screenshot.

Still not 100% sure . Guess i, ll just have to try it out but dont want to waste money on smart campaigns.

Bing says all new accounts are set to smart campaigns and you have to change to expert by clicking tools and change to expert, but there is no option to do this there.

I dont understand how i could already be in expert mode.

Do you know is there a way i can check what mode i am in without setting up a campaign?

    Many thanks for your help,

    Tony.
