wireless connection to VGA projector?

I'm searching for a wireless display adapter that I can use for my Surface Pro to connect wirelessly via VGA to a projector for powerpoint presentations.  I'd like to be able to use my Surface Pro without a cable connecting to the projector for lectures.  Must be VGA, not HDMI.  Has anyone solved this problem?

Surface | Surface Pro | USB-C

Trying to do the same thing here.

Looking at using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.(HDMI)

Then converting the VGA feed to the projector to a HDMI using a VGA to HDMI after market adapter. Then running a USB power lead to the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

We also think we would need a VGA switch to save unplugging and re plugging all the cables back into each other.

I have not tested this as of yet but this should bridge the gap until all rooms have projectors with HDMI and USB ports.

The link is to an adapter that has both HDMI and VGA outputs.  You can see it in the image and it's backed up in the description.  The device will support a conventional VGA projector.

This thing will work for you: https://www.projectors.co.uk/optoma-vga-wireless-adaptor/

You need only this thing and wi-fi on your laptop (or mobile device)

You could find it on ebay or amazon.

    Works good for me.

Thanks, Steve!  However, that adapter you suggested is for an external HDMImonitor (e.g. TV) not a VGA projector and its not clear that it will work with a Surface Pro.  I spent all weekend searching the internet for such adapters and just came up with ones like that one.

Has anyone out there had any luck using the Surface Pro in a powerpoint presentation using a conventional VGA projector AND connecting wirelessly?  How did you do it?!

Search for Wireless VGA. What you will probably find is a USB adapter to plug into the Surface Pro and a receiver that would be connected via VGA cable to the projector.

    One example: http://www.iogear.com/product/GUWAVKIT2/
