Can the Microsoft Surface RT screen be displayed on another screen or possibly a smart board? I mean while I walk around the classroom drawing diagrams, writing notes, and showing examples from internet or other documents on the tablet can I have them displayed on a smart board while I am using the tablet?

    Greetings Monica,

Having the Surface connect to the computer might work. What kind of computer is connected to the Smartboard? Windows/Mac/Linux?

I do not believe that the Surface with Windows RT would be able to connect directly to it as it requires specific software that is most likely not supported for Windows RT. You can try and use Remote Desktop, to connect to the PC that outputs to the Smartboard.

Normally a main computer is hooked up to the smart board through hard wiring and that displays onto the smart board, ( no teacher touches the hard wiring, not allowed to) not sure what kind of smart board it is. But maybe if there is a way to do what I asked through the other computer is there a way to live stream what I am writing on the tablet to the computer that is hooked up to the smart board

I got a vga adapter for my surface rt and was pleased to be able to use it in my science classroom with my projector. I'd seriously would like it to work with my smart board. I've already contacted the smart board company and put in a request for a Windows rt app today.

    Greetings Monica,

That is an interesting question. Which Smart board do you have in your classroom, and how are you currently connected to it?
