Microsoft surface book 2 Bamboo ink stylus Compatibility 13 inch vs 15 inch

So I am a digital artist and I am used to the Wacom pen since it is what I have been using for years. I was very excited to hear that the Wacom bamboo ink was a dual protocol and would work with the surface book 2 which I just purchased.  I downloaded all the drivers and did everything I thought was required. I then contacted Wacom support to be told that there is only support for the 13 inch model of the surface book 2 and not the 15 inch. This doesn't really make any sense to me at all considering a 15 inch tablet makes more sense for a Wacom pen then a 13 inch tablet. I know the Surface book 2 is pretty new so I was wondering if there is going to be an update for support of the bamboo pen or If I should just return it to the store.

I also don't know why your employees at the store I purchased both the surface book 2 and pen were not informed of this.

The surface pen is ok which I also have, but its better for note taking then digital art since it has a few kinks that I personally would like to see worked out.

I know you are going to self promote your pen on your forum because Microsoft is cheap and decided to strike up a deal with Ntrig pen technology instead of Wacom a few years back. Wacom pens are the industry standard in the field of graphic design this is annoying me so much. I literally contacted Wacom and they told me Microsoft was responsible for the compatibility issue. They told me to contact you guys. Then I posted on this forum after that interaction . I was literally sold my bamboo pen in a Microsoft store by an associate who obviously did not know what they were doing. I'm literally about to return this surface book 2 regarding this **** and go back to Apple where they would actually give me an answer. Now can I please get a helpful response regarding future updates on this 1 month old computer which is obviously being constantly updated with bloated software.

Have another Microsoft---> Supervisor<--- or a Microsoft employee who is in expert in this field reply soon with an actual answer, or I will 1. return this product 2. Make a Youtube video trashing this product with my hundreds of thousands of followers and do everything in my power to make sure that no other artist in this specific niche buys this garbage . I'm not trying to be an **** but I just made a 40000 dollar investment and I'm severely pissed I'm being hindered by a pen that so many artist are adamant about.

    Thomas,

According to Wacom's list of compatible devices, it seems as though, the 15" is not compatible. It only has the 13.5" model listed.

I have attached the link below:

    https://www.wacom.com/en-us/comp

I believe Microsoft did develop the 15" model differently than the 13.5" model since there are certain features that come with the 15" model that are not available for the 13" (Bluetooth MS controller).

I have the 13.5" model and was interested in buying either the Bamboo ink or Surface pen, but I will just physically take my laptop into a Best Buy and see if the Bamboo pen will work with it.

Hope you figured out your stylus dilemma and good luck with your artwork!

    Thomas,

What programs/apps are you using? It would seem strange that there is no support

for 15 in SB2's as the Pen Protocol and Digitizer are the same as 13 inch SB2's.

If you have a Twitter account, tweet to @wacom which will get public attention.

    Hi Thomas,

We highly recommend that you use Surface Pen with your Surface device because of compatibility issue. Otherwise, you may contact the manufacturer if you want to use third party pen. For future concern, you may post any feedback using our Feedback Hub

    Regards.

Hi Wiz.Dope24, I will definitely try this out, for now the surface pen is working great for me along with the software tabletpro which you need when using the surface book 2 in tablet/studio mode working with 2D/3D applications.
