Marvell AVASTR Bluetooth Adapter error code 43

This problem occurs repeatedly on my Surface Pro. Only solution is a restart of my Surface Pro.

Does anyone have a permanent solution? Telephone support to MSFT says "That's strange." but offers no solution except to restart! Need another solution because obviously this one is not a good one!

Helene,

I don't work for Microsoft. I'm a MVP and Community Moderator. I'm available in this Forum and you can ping me on Twitter @barbbowman to let me know you've posted here. I get notifications on this thread as well. Should maybe take 1hr - 1.5 hrs. Recommend that you do NOT connect to the Internet and set up wifi or download updates during the reimage and wait until you are at the desktop before going to Windows Update and checking for updates. This will be the fastest way. And you will know sooner if it is hardware of software.

Hope this helps. Please DO mark as Answer if it was of assistance.

Yes, when you go to the Driver tab for the Marvell Wireless Network, there is an "Uninstall Device" button. I want you to select that and answer NO to deleting the driver if prompted. That button uninstalls the driver. Again do NOT delete it. Restart your Surface.

Yes, the same Marvell chip powers both WiFi and Bluetooth. So it is very likely both are impacted by the same issue.

    Well, that didn't work!

Several times yesterday my Arc Mouse SE stopped working. It was showing connected in Settings. I turned it off and back on (flattened it and then resumed the arced position) and it worked fine.

I placed my Surface Pro in sleep mode yesterday evening.

When I woke it up this morning my mouse wouldn't work again. I tried the above (turned off/on) without results. Settings/Devices/Bluetooth showed Bluetooth turned off with no ability to turn it back on (picture attached). In the past this meant that the adapter had errorred out again!

Sure enough that's what has happened.

I don't know enough about how to read the event viewer to determine any precipitating occurrences.

Any ideas of what to do next?
