Miracast flickering

Hello, I have a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10, with all the latest updates.

When I try and Miracast to a projector with a Microsoft Wireless Adapter (with the latest firmware installed) or to my Sony Bravia TV, after a time the projected image will start flickering (particularly in the bottom half of the screen). This suggests the problem is with the Surface rather than the devices I am trying to connect to.

As I purchased the MWA for the projector in order to show PowerPoint slides, the flickering detracts from the presentation meaning that I have to go back to a wired connection.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

    read the text that begins with netsh wlan show networks mode=BSSID [press Enter]

    the 2.4GHz band is shared with Bluetooth and microwaves, and lots of other

    things and is prone to interference.

    1. the Miracast connect (MWDA) is always a peer to peer connection to the target

    host device/TV - that IS the Miracast specification.

    1. according to the spec, the connection is always negotiated over 2.4GHz. If

    your computer is connected at 5GHz, Miracast will SWITCH to 5GHz after

    negotiation. Again that is the spec.

    These are specifications - no update will be issued.

    it is really tough to diagnose intermittent and flickering issues. some folks

    have reported that using f.lux creates flickering with Miracast. if you are

    connecting over 5GHz, you would not see interference from Bluetooth or other

    2.4GHz devices.

    if you are in the US and near a physical retail Microsoft Store, you might want

    to bring your Surface and MWDA there for testing.

    I don't know anyone else who has a TV with Miracast capability. However, as I said previously, the problem occurs with the TV I have at home, and a projector (using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter) at a physically distant location (I mention this in case it may be supposed to be a local interference causing the problem).

    From what I have observed, the problem does not occur immediately, but it seems to develop after a short while and then remain. The flickering is not continually, but seems to occur perhaps every 10-30 seconds or so. This may be a clue, or it could be just a 'red herring'.

    As I have said, all the latest Windows 10 updates are installed on my Surface (and including in the MWA).

    I believe that the Miracast needs to connect at 2.4GHZ, and that this band is prone to interference, but I have no idea whether it automatically switches to the 5GHZ band once the connection is made, or how to force it to do so.

    My MS Surface Pro 3 when connecting to my home wifi uses the 5GHZ band.
