I am using surface pro 4 (i5 128gb). whenever i touch the screen (either finger or pen) i expect to see one transparent dot like other devices do, but i always see some random multiple dots that makes my touch inaccurate. I have reinstalled, checked calibration, and what any other surface pro faq recommends to do for malfunctioning touch, but i still cannot resolve this issue. Is there any way to solve this?

    Hi,

This can be caused by a faulty touch screen driver or a possible hardware issue.

Here are some solutions you can try that can help you resolve the issue.

    Clean the screen.

Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or eyeglass cleaner but don’t apply liquids directly to the screen. Click here for more information on how to clean your Surface device.

    Force shutdown your device.

    1. Press and hold the power button on your Surface for 30 seconds and then release it.
    2. Press and hold the volume-up button and the power button at the same time for at least 15 seconds and then release both.

The screen may flash the Surface logo, but continue holding the buttons down for at least 15 seconds. 3. After you release the buttons, wait 10 seconds. 4. Press and release the power button to turn your Surface back on. You should see the Surface logo.

Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

    1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
    2. Select Troubleshooting.
    3. Select View all on the top left corner.
    4. Click on Hardware and Devices.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Disable and re-enable the touch screen driver.

    1. Select the search box in the taskbar, enter device manager, and then select Device Manager in the search results.
    2. Select the arrow to the left of Human Interface Devices.
    3. Right-click HID-compliant touch screen, and then select Disable.
    4. Right-click HID-compliant touch screen, and then select Enable.

Uninstall and reinstall the Human Interface Devices driver.

    1. Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Human Interface Devices.
    3. Right click HID-compliant touch screen and select Uninstall.
    4. Restart your computer. Windows will reinstall the driver.
