Is Surface Go considered as a laptop or a tablet? Can I install full-functioned Office 365 on it while still in S mode?

So in 2 scenarios, with and without the Type Cover, is Surface Go considered as a laptop or a tablet?

I ask so because I have Office 365 Personal and I've consumed 1 install for my desktop, not sure if I can install Office on the Surface Go or I need to upgrade to Office 365 Home.

And I heard that if the Surface Go runs in S mode, you can only download and install the mobile version of Office. Is that correct?

Thanks and best regards,

DP

    Dear DuongPhan2502

In answer to your second question, you can install the mobile versions of office and edit documents for free on the Surface Go, as it falls into the "10.1 inches or less" category.

I don't know if you need to be in s mode to install the full versions , but they installed on my surface go while I was still in s mode, and will consume 1 install.

    Hi DuongPhan2502,

The Surface Go can be considered both a tablet and a laptop.

On the Surface Go, you will be able to install the Office 365 applications from the Microsoft Store, this will utilise your Office 365 licensing.

Windows 10 S will only allow the use of Microsoft Store apps.

You can swap to the normal version of Windows 10, more information can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/help/4456067/wind...

    Hope this helps,

    Nathan
