How do I submit a product design/idea

So my question is where and who do I submit it to? Before someone else thinks of it.

Microsoft doesn't take ideas from non-employees.

If you think your idea really is 1) new and different, and 2) has a market of people who will shell out their hard-earned cash to buy it, then you might want to talk to someone about designing and building it, especially if you don't want to just give it to Microsoft. (NTTAWWT...)

I don't want to get too commercial on the forums (so I'm not even going to mention names), but I run a company here in Austin that can handle everything from concept definition and requirements (both market and technical) to Industrial Design/ME/EE, to prototypes to securing manufacturing and logistics, for hardware, software, or embedded (both) products.  We will either do it all under contract (with you owning all the rights), or for a very good idea/market we will consider sharing some of the risk (reduced fees) for an share in ownership.  Contact me if you are interested.

You can submit your Surface ideas and feedback to the Windows Feedback Portal. Here's how:

1. On the desktop, go to Start/Cortana.
2. Type Windows Feedback.
3. Open from results.
4. Sign in using your Microsoft Account.
5. You'll then be directed to the Windows Feedback portal.
